WHERE ARE THE 2012 & 2011 PICTURES? The pictures from 2012 and 2011 that were stored on the Google Picasa website as well. Copies of all these pictures are now part of the pclax.smugmug.com site. HOW IS THE SITE ORGANIZED? The site is organized into major categories (Varsity, JV, 2012 Archive, & 2011 Archive). The Varsity and JV categories contain the current year's (2013) pictures. If you click on the Varsity category, you will be taken to the area that contains all the varsity pictures, organized into one folder per game. If you click on a particular game folder, you will be presented with a gallery of pictures (4 rows of 8 pictures = 32 pictures), most often which spans several screens, denoted by the page 1 of X text above the gallery. Clicking on any picture in the gallery will bring it into the larger display area on the right side of the screen. CAN I BUY A COPY OF A PHOTO? All pictures can be purchased via SmugMug.com at competitive prices. You can also have a picture image put onto a number of items (card, calendar, book, etc.), or framed and mounted, all from the comfort of your home. The photographers and PC Lacrosse Boosters currently make NO money from this. After selecting a picture from the gallery (so it's displayed on the right side of the screen), press the Buy button for a menu of options. CAN I DOWNLOAD PICTURES? You can DOWNLOAD picture files directly (for free) and take them to Meijers, Walgreens, Sam's Club, etc. and have you picture files printed there. To get the BEST quality photo, select the photo you want from the preview shots on the left side of the screen, so that it is the pictured displayed on the right side of the screen (in bigger format). Move your mouse over the right side of the larger picture, and when the menu appears on the right side of the photo, select View Size|Original to get the highest quality picture. This is very important, particularly if you are going to have the picture blown up at all. The typical file size for a full picture quality photo is between 5-8MB, while a smaller sized photo can be as little as .1MB. The full size picture will display (which won't fit on the computer screen - this is OK). At this point, along the top of the picture, select the Owner Save button, which will then allow you to save the picture file to your computer. After saving the picture, press the Close button above the picture towards the right side of the screen to go back to the previous screen. |
